BIO Deutschland (Biotechnology-Industry-Organisation Deutschland e. V.)
BIO Deutschland is the sector association of the German biotechnology industry and has set itself the objective of supporting and promoting the development of an innovative economic sector based on modern biosciences. The Berlin-based association currently has about 340 members and is run by a board of ten members consisting of CEOs and managing directors of biotechnology companies.
The member companies and their experts are organised in working groups that deal with a variety of topics such as regulatory policy, diagnostics, finance and taxation, health policy, industrial bioeconomy, entrepreneurship or technology transfer. Using a wide range of political initiatives, BIO Deutschland lobbies for improvements to the legal parameters for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The association is also very active in a broad range of events with the aim of providing biotechnology with a platform for discussion and interaction.
European Biotechnology Network
The European Biotechnology Network is dedicated to facilitating co-operation between professionals in biotechnology and the life sciences all over Europe. The non-profit organisation brings research groups, universities, SMEs, large companies and indeed all actors in biotechnology together to build and deliver partnerships.The primary goal of the European Biotechnology Network is to improve cooperation in the fields of biotechnology and the other life sciences, primarily between the 28 member states of the European Union, Switzerland and Norway.
The Swiss Biotech Association (SBA)
The Swiss Biotech Association (SBA) is the national industry association for biotechnology, including pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, agriculture, food, cosmetics, environmental biotechnology, and specialty chemicals. Members are companies active in modern biotechnology, such as R&D, Production, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Services and Consulting. SBA provides a networking platform for Life Science clusters, academic and federal institutions the like. Founded in March 1998, the Association grows steadily.
Since 2014 the SBA is consortia member of Ecobiofor, a FP7 project with researcher organizations, biotech and paint associations and paints SME's developing bio-based solvents using green chemistry and biotechnology.
ASEBIO-Spanish Bioindustry Association
Association brings together companies, associations, foundations,
universities, research and technology centres that engage in activities directly
or indirectly related to biotechnology in Spain. Since 1999 ASEBIO
has been a meeting point and platform for the promotion of organisations
interested in stimulating the national biotechnology sector.
